The Identity of DCEU's New Batman Could Be Revealed This Week

Like it or not, the DCEU is pushing forward without Ben Affleck's Batman, and the studio is hard at work looking for someone to take over as a younger Bruce Wayne. We don't have any solid leads on who the new Batman will be, but rumor has it that we could be getting the reveal sometime soon.

According to insider Daniel Richtman, we could be finding out the identity of the new Batman within the week:

Of course, it's still possible that we won't get a reveal at all, but seeing as the movie is planning to start production within the year, it would make sense that they would have at least the main actor before June. Next up would be the villains, and I can imagine that would also be a casting director nightmare.

While we don't have a list of actors wanted for the role, rumor has it that WB is looking for someone who is already a bit recognized when it comes to the audience. A fan favorite choice has been Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger) with some rumors saying Robert Pattinson (Twilight) is actually being considered. Personally, I think Jon Hamm would be great for the role.

With James Gunn getting back on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, I'm kind of hoping that the studio actually brings Ben Affleck back, what with Shazam! putting a new enthusiasm for the established DCEU. I mean, I would understand if they should let Affleck go, but I'm just holding out that the DCEU actually go with their original plans after learning from everything that came before.

Matt Reeves' The Batman is set to come out June 25, 2021.
