Justice League’s Henry Cavill Is The Red Son Superman In New Image

Henry Cavill's future in the DC Extended Universe might be uncertain, but fans can't help but want to see more of the Superman star in the franchise. Sure, most of the films featuring Superman might not have been as well-received as one might expect like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, but fans love Cavill's casting, naming the actor's Supes as one of the best since Christopher Reeve.

Now, as Cavill busies himself with Netflix's live-action adaptation of The Witcher, digital artists Live Action gives us a look at what Cavill might have looked like if he starred as the Red Son version of Superman. Taking to Instagram, Live Action decided to post his artwork imagining Cavill as the Red Son.

For those who aren't familiar, the Red Son version of Superman is taken from Mark Millar's Elseworld's comic book story, Superman: Red Son. The comic imagines an alternate universe with a simple but extremely interesting premise: What if Kal-El's rocket landed in the Soviet Union instead of Kansas in the US?

Despite being one of the best imaginings from the Elseworlds series, Millar's story has yet to receive a big-screen adaptation. Who knows, with Warner Brothers building an alternate universe to its DCEU, we might be able to see an Elseworlds movie series too. For now, we can only hope.

The DCEU's latest film, Shazam!, is currently screening.
