James Gunn has officially taken over the Suicide Squad sequel, and is doing a sort of ‘soft reboot' complete with a new characters. News came out last week that the likes of Polka-Dot Man and Peacemaker will be part of the roster, but there's another character that wasn't mentioned on the list.
According to Discussing Film, Killer Frost is rumored to be in the new roster of Suicide Squad 2. With Harley Quinn and Katana being the only women members in the first SS (Enchantress does not count), Gunn may be looking to experiment on the roster a bit. Besides a rumored returning Harley, the movie is also said to be introducing a gender-bent Ratcatcher.
Though DC has an abundance of ice-based villains like Mr. Freeze and Captain Cold, no one has admittedly made their way into a movie yet. With Killer Frost arguably being the least popular, I guess it would be great to see her introduced in an actual movie. After all, she appeared in the animated SS film.
Then again, this is just a rumor for now, so it's likely that she won't be in the movie at all. I just think it's great that they would add more interesting women in the roster. I mean, yeah we got Katana, but did she really make an impact in that movie?
We don't know much about James Gunn's Suicide Squad, but the movie is set to start production later in the year. Maybe the working title, El Dorado, could be a clue as well? I guess all we can really do is wait.
