Did Barriss Offee Survive Order 66?

While Barriss Offee perished during Order 66 in the Star Wars Legends canon, the character did survive the events in the official canon.

George Lucas was planning to include the character during the Order 66 sequence in Revenge of the Sith, but her death scene was cut thus making her a survivor.

There were also plans to kill off Barriss during the fifth season finale of The Clone Wars, but she ended up getting imprisoned instead as Dave Filoni wants to leave the door open for the character's return.

This explains why the character is set to make an appearance in Tales of the Empire since she did not die in Order 66 and Lucasfilm has more stories to tell with the character.

What Happens to Barriss Offee in Tales of the Empire?

The final three episodes of Tales of the Empire will pick up on the aftermath of the fifth season finale of The Clone Wars where Barriss is serving a life sentence.

The Fourth Sister will offer Barriss a choice: join the Empire as a member of the Inquisitorius or rot in a cell.

"Tales of the Empire really begins her story again in such an interesting, conflicted place, and it's just the best arc of a character I think I've ever had," the character's voice actress Meredith Salenger explained in an interview.

"To survive, she has to make a choice she doesn't want to make. I think she still holds on to her moral convictions. She's presented with a path she doesn't particularly want to take, but she knows it's the only way."

Star Wars: Tales of the Empire is set to premiere on Disney+ this coming May the 4th Day.
