Delicious in Dungeon chapter 97 begins after Laios’ party has defeated the Winged Lion and restored the kingdom.
There, the party is shown eating the Faligon meat. Technically, this meant they were eating the meat of Falin’s chimera form, but this was part of their plan to rescue Falin and hopefully return her to human form.
The chances of their plan working weren’t high, but thankfully, with Falin’s innate power of recovery and will to live, she was able to wake up and recover as a human.
After this, a flash forward was shown detailing the future events of the series with a unique medieval art style. There, it was revealed that Laios became the king of the new kingdom.
Delicious in Dungeon's Ending Sees Laios Get Cursed
Because of his penchant for preparing and eating monsters, Laios became known as the “Devourer of All Things Horrible.”
Despite this nickname, he was a good ruler with a focus on producing and preserving food for his subjects.
Of course, things weren’t all great for Laios as he was cursed following their climactic fight against the Winged Lion.
Firstly, he can no longer feel full, as consuming the demon’s appetite meant he only ever felt 40% full, even after eating lots of food.
Laios was also cursed so that he could not get his greatest desire. In his case, this meant he could no longer see or interact with monsters. On the bright side, this meant monsters stayed away from his kingdom.

The Rest of Laios' Party Had a Pretty Good End
Aside from Falin surviving, the rest of the main cast also survived the series’ events. Based on the flash forward, Marcille and Kabru continued to be one of Laios' main advisors.
The other characters weren’t shown in this part, but what’s certain is the likes of Senshi, Chilchuck, Izutsumi, Namari, and Shuro are alive.
Delicious in Dungeon’s manga ended in chapter 97, meaning the anime will not get to this point. So, here’s hoping that the anime gets renewed in the future so that it reaches the manga’s satisfying conclusion.
