It's no longer a secret to a lot of DC fans that Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. have never seen eye-to-eye on many things and it turned out to be detrimental to the entire DC Extended Universe. This, of course, resulted in the director's controversial Justice League exit in 2017. However, the clamor from Zack's supporters to have the Snyder Cut released was just too much for WB to ignore, and thankfully, they ended up doing the right thing but releasing the famed project, but not without one final meddling.

A few months following the premiere of the 4-hour superhero epic, Snyder is once again opening up about his heated clash with WB which apparently almost led to the Snyder Cut not being released. In an interview with YouTuber Tyrone Magnus, the director revealed that they couldn't get on the same page over the inclusion of Green Lantern in the film as WB didn't want Snyder to use the character.

Snyder explains: "When we had this fight, I was like, 'Guys, I don't understand. We have this whole thing of the Multiverse, who cares?'" I just think the right end of this movie is John Stewart, that's the correct ending to happen."

Snyder later said that while he had no issues with Martian Manhunter being the replacement, having John Stewart meet Bruce Wayne in the epilogue would have been the right call. "By the way, I don't want to take anything away from Harry and away from Martian Manhunter, because it's cool. Seeing him early and then seeing him at the end, its cool, it kind of completes his story. But it was always my intent to have John Stewart [meet Batman]."

While I'm grateful that we got to see the Snyder Cut, it sucks that Zack's vision for the film wasn't fully realized. It must suck even more for Wayne T. Carr considering he actually filmed his scenes in the project but hey, it is what it is and there's really nothing we can do about it now. The only hope we have left is for WB to reconsider restoring the SnyderVerse but even that seems impossible.

Zack Snyder's Justice League is available for streaming on HBO Max.
