This marks one of the first big anime delays this season, as most of the big winter 24 shows have not gotten any broadcast changes.
While there’s a new release date revealed for episode 7, the date might be a bit confusing given the anime’s release schedule, which can seem a bit unclear.
Explaining The Witch and the Beast’s Release Schedule
Produced by Yokohama Animation Laboratory (of The Kingdoms of Ruin fame), The Witch and the Beast premiered in Japan on January 11, with a Crunchyroll streaming release shortly after each episode’s TV broadcast.
Its January 11 premiere is a bit misleading though, as its broadcast time is 1:28 AM Japan time. Meanwhile, the show’s website lists other release dates for other networks.
What makes this confusing is that many Japanese TV networks air anime in the early morning timeslots, meaning they’re technically airing on the next day.
Despite this, their release dates are still promoted as being the day before.
Thus, The Witch and the Beast anime's actual premiere date is January 12 at 1:28 AM Japan time. The show’s other episodes are released in the late Thursday-early Friday timeslot.
As for fans in the US, new episodes of the series are released every Thursday on Crunchyroll. The seventh episode is an exception though, as it has been delayed by one week.

The Witch and the Beast Episode 7 Delay: New Release Date Confirmed
The delay was announced via the anime’s official X account. There, it was revealed that The Witch and the Beast episode 7 is delayed by one week, meaning it will be released instead on February 29 at 2:00 AM Japan time.
Given the quirk of the show’s Japanese broadcast date, the next episode’s new release date is technically March 1 at 2:00 AM Japan time.
As for fans outside of Japan, the next episode is expected to be streamed on Crunchyroll on February 29 in US time zones.
Regarding the delay, it wasn’t revealed what exactly caused it. As most anime delays are made to give the studio more time to polish and work on an episode, this is also possibly the case for The Witch and the Beast.
