Lily Amane Reveals Her Fake Wings in Episode 10
Episode 10 of The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil startled viewers with its abrupt shift in tone because of the appearance of Amane's brother, Zwei.
Who knew that Zwei, an enchanting angel, could be so nasty and demanding toward his little sister? Most anime brothers would adore their little sister and develop a younger sister complex, but not Zwei.
Zwei dislikes Amane primarily because she's different from him. Amane may be an angel, yet she is nothing like her siblings in appearance and behavior.
Unfortunately, Amane is a wingless angel, and her spiteful sister Aine has marked her entire body with a crest to mock and embarrass her.
Wings are believed to symbolize an angel's power, and Amane's lack of wings is a direct insult to her family. As a result, Amane is often the object of curiosity for other angels, including her cruel siblings.
Still, there's more to Amane's story than meets the eye, and if you read the manga, you'll understand why her family, especially Aine, resents her so much.

As of writing, the manga has yet to reveal the information we need to understand why Amane lacks wings, but as the story develops, we learn a lot about heaven and the events that occurred before Amane's time in the human world.
Amane is not Zwei and Aine's biological sibling. She is a mystery girl that Zwei and Aine's father brought home because he had no other option.
Aine believes Amane is to blame for their older brother's disappearance, which explains her hatred for her. She also believes she is a danger to their home because she took away her loving brother.
It even got to the point where Aine urged her father to isolate Amane to make her life miserable.
Perhaps this is one of the reasons Amane has no wings because, unlike the other angels, her self-confidence, power, and strength did not develop properly.
In addition, Amane also has a unique personality, which suggests she is of a different breed. Who knows? Amane may be a half-angel and half-demon.
It's also likely that the creator designed Amane this way to make her story more appealing to the audience.
