The anime adaptation of The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest is from the pages of the light novel series, Shikkakumon no Saikyō Kenja, written by Shinkoshoto with the illustrations of Huuka Kazabana which is published online on Shōsetsuka ni Narō, a user-generated publishing site, and it was later taken by SB Creative, with fourteen volumes to date.

As regards the English dubbed version of the series, Crunchyroll already announced that the anime show will be having one and it would be streaming on the same platform alongside the release of the original Japanese audio version with English subtitles.
