What is Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth About?
For anyone not aware, Utawarerumono is an anime series based on a tactical RPG visual novel franchise of the same name. Mask of Truth is the final game in the series and the third season of the anime.
The story revolves around Hakuoro, a man who wakes up in a mysterious world, saved by a young girl and her family. He joins their village and discovers that it is under threat from a tyrannical emperor.
Throughout the previous games and anime, Hakuoro helps to liberate the village and form his nation while making various allies and adversaries along his journey.
Mask of Truth will see Hakuoro return alongside season two’s Kuon as they face new threats from the ruler of the Yamato Empire.
People wanting to join Utawarerumono this season will want to watch at least the previous season to catch up on events and, in particular, character relationships.
Utawarerumono fans, however, recommend playing the visual novels, as the anime isn’t the most reliable adaptation of the source material.
Mask of Truth’s first episode carried on almost immediately after the conclusion of season 2, The False Faces; so much so that even some fans that watched previous seasons needed a refresher.
Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth Episode 3 Release Date
Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth episode 3 will be released on Sunday, July 10th in Japan. In the USA and Europe, the episodes should be released on Saturday, July 9th, due to timezone differences.
The series is aired early in the morning in Japan on Tokyo MX and BS11. The anime is forming part of the Summer 2022 anime season.
Viewers in most international regions outside of Asia will be able to watch Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth on Crunchyroll.

Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth will premiere in Japan at 1:00 AM on Sunday, July 10th, 2022.
While not officially confirmed, it appears that Crunchyroll is simulcasting Utawarerumono 45 minutes after episodes premiere in Japan.
