The Suicide Squad Reportedly Courting Guardians of the Galaxy Star for King Shark Role

Now that Avengers: Endgame has teased a very positive future for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, fans are looking forward to that movie, along with The Suicide Squad for DC. After all, both of these movies are written and directed by James Gunn, so this could be considered the very first cinematic crossover between Marvel and DC. It's about to get more meta than that since reports claim that DC and Gunn want a Guardians of the Galaxy star to play King Shark.

According to The Wrap, Michael Rooker is in talks to play as the awesome-looking villain for James Gunn's DCEU debut. That's right, they want Yondu to play as an anthropomorphic shark man and that is awesome.

Fans should take this with a grain of salt since Warner Bros declined to comment, so that means this could be true or false. Still, it's fun to speculate on what could be, especially if it comes true.

Believe it or not, we've already seen King Shark in live-action. Those that are caught up with CW's The Flash know that the speedster has encountered King Shark a number of times, voiced by Solid Snake voice actor David Hayter. He's been a decent CGI character thus far, though the CW has done better with Grodd if we're being honest.

Will Michael Rooker voice King Shark for James Gunn's The Suicide Squad? We'll have to wait and see.
