Also known as Shinka no Mi: Shiranai Uchi ni Kachigumi Jinsei, The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made is a fantasy light novel serialized in Shosetsuka ni Naro, a user-generated novel website. It was acquired by Futabasha and released the series under Monster Bunko imprint. The success of the series continued after it was adapted into a manga.
In January 2021, it was announced that The Fruit of Evolution will be adapted into an anime. It will be animated by Hotline and will be directed by Yoshiaki Okumura with Gigaemon Ichikawa in charge of overseeing the scripts.

The Fruit of Evolution is a comedy series that is set in a parallel world. It is about Seiichi Hiiragi, a young man who was despised by his classmates because he was chubby, ugly, and smelly. One day, his class was transported into another world, and he was chased by a giant gorilla. His life changed after he and the gorilla ate the Fruit of Evolution and both of them underwent a huge transformation.
The series is not just simple teleportation as Seiichi and his classmates were taken in a world where stats, levels, and skills matter. The story will show the journey of Seiichi as someone who was bullied to becoming one of the heroes in that new world. He will do his best to survive with his skills and being positive.
