Superman has Gone Rogue in Game Trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Rocksteady may not be working on an Arkham title anymore, but they are now expanding the world with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Thanks to DC FanDome, we have a cool new trailer, and it sets up the main adversaries of the film who turn out to be Superman and his friends.

The creators of the Batman: Arkham series are back with a brand new action-adventure shooter. The most dangerous villains in the DC Universe have been forced to team up and take on a new mission: Kill the Justice League. Create Chaos in Metropolis. You are the Suicide Squad.

By the looks of it, we'll be able to take control of a total of 4 characters—Deadshot, Harley Quinn, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang. The trailer has revealed several gameplay mechanics for each character, with Harley being able to use a grappling hook, and Deadshot using a jetpack. I think it's interesting that they were able to give Boomerang a teleport ability, which looks to have been a way to explain how he can stand toe-to-toe with the Flash.

It's also interesting to see how bright Metropolis looks, despite the Brainiac invasion. With the Arkham games admittedly leaning into being dark and gothic, Metropolis is looking bright and clean—fitting for the city that's the home of Superman.

We don't know when we're going to get a look at gameplay, but hopefully, we don't have to wait too long. This game has been speculated on for years, and everyone is very eager to come back to the Arkham world—which has also been confirmed to be the universe the game is set on.

We don't have a specific release date, but Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League comes to PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2022.
