Stephen Amell Hits Back at John Cena for Peacemaker's Green Arrow Joke

Peacemaker didn't shy away from poking fun at several DC heroes whether it's Aquaman "f*cking a fish," calling Batman a "p*ssy" or Superman having a "poop fetish." The Green Arrow wasn't safe at the titular antihero's jokes as he called him out in the first season finale for being a "Brony" (a fan of My Little Pony) and attending conventions. Now, the actor who played the hero for eight years has responded to the show's joke on his former role.

Stephen Amell, who played the Green Arrow on The CW's Arrow for eight seasons, responded to a tweet from a journalist who is wondering if the actor has seen Peacemaker and its joke about his former role. He wrote, "Haven’t seen it. Too busy showing [John] Cena what professional wrestling should actually look like on TV." You can check his hilarious response below:

The former Arrow star is referring to his current role in the Starz drama series Heels where he plays a professional wrestler and, of course, Cena's career in the WWE where he was known as a professional wrestler before venturing into an acting career. Obviously, the actor was just joking in his tweet and it would be curious to see if Cena will respond back to the tweet with also a hilarious response.

It is nice to see Amell play around with the Green Arrow joke in Peacemaker. Right now, he is the most prominent actor who has played the role, and a lot of fans associated the character with him so there's no doubt that fans would love to hear his take on it. In the end, it's all just fun and games for them and, sometimes, we just need some good laughs.

However, with the mention of Green Arrow in the series, it does pose a question regarding the possibility that the hero already exists in the DCEU and we just haven't met him yet. While we could say that it's just a throwaway joke that Gunn wrote, it could also be a clue about what's more in the DCEU beyond what we know so far. Fans wouldn't mind seeing the character pop up in the franchise at some point soon. For now, all we can do is speculated and fingers crossed that the mention does actually mean something about his existence in the DCEU.
