The upcoming anniversary comic of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace will offer fans an alternate look at Anakin Skywalker's future.
In celebration of the film's 25th anniversary, Lucasfilm is re-releasing the first installment in the prequel trilogy in theaters this week and will release a comic adaptation that offers a new take on the movie.
Some fans have been intrigued with what the comic has in store that the film has not covered and, as it turns out, it will feature a different future outcome for the future Darth Vader.

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace Comic Showcases a Different Future for Anakin Skywalker
Recently, a first look at the comic adaptation of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace was released and it gave fans an early sneak peek at the inaugural issue.
One of the biggest highlights of the first look is the reveal that the comic will feature a dream sequence where Anakin imagines himself as a brave Jedi knight in the future and frees his mother from slavery in Tatooine.
Interestingly, Anakin is yielding a yellow lightsaber, which is what Rey Skywalker notably used at the end of The Rise of Skywalker.
Writer Greg Pak explained his decision on the comic adaptation. "I was eight when A New Hope came out, so for my formative years, Star Wars was synonymous with the original trilogy," he said.
"But I delved deep into the prequels when I came on board as the writer of Marvel's Darth Vader comics, watching and rewatching all of them. And I found myself dazzled by the long game George Lucas was playing in laying out the tragedy of Darth Vader."
Pak added, "It's been an absolute thrill to contribute to that legacy by revisiting The Phantom Menace with new scenes from the point of view of young Anakin."
Some fans might find it intriguing since it offers a very different look at the character and they could get curious about how they're addressing the alternative future.
It is interesting to see what else they have in store in the comic adaptation and whether it will change the fans' perception of the film after all these years.
