Shazam Tries to Fly for the First Time in New TV Spot

Captain Marvel may be hitting theaters this weekend, but DC is also prepping for the release of their spinoff movie for the original Captain Marvel—Shazam!. The studio has just released a new trailer, but it's this new TV spot that gives us a look at Shazam trying to fly for the first time.

We don't really know how he ends up in the sky in the first place, but it's really fun to watch Shazam try and find out which was the ‘right arm' to fly with. If you have to love something about Zachary Levi's performance as the character, it's that he really gets how to play a kid stuck in an adult's body. Director David F. Sandberg has said before that other actors who auditioned for the part didn't know how to play an enthusiastic kid without making the character look stupid.

If I'm being honest, Captain Marvel was a tad underwhelming when I checked the movie out. It doesn't deserve to be unfairly bombed by trolls, but the movie isn't the milestone that some people are expecting either. I guess if it makes little girls feel like they have a superhero for themselves, then the movie would have done its job. Brie Larson was still pretty likable as Carol Danvers, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of her in the MCU.

I guess we'll have to wait for Shazam! to come out to see which Captain Marvel will come out on top.

Catch Shazam! in theaters April 5.
