Shazam! Director and Producer Willing to Return for a Sequel

Shazam! could be one of the better DC movies coming out next month and everyone is pretty hyped about seeing the original Captain Marvel in action. The trailers have done a good job at presenting this fun superhero movie and it could be one of the funnier films out this year, at least for comic book fans. With many expecting this film to blow them away, fans are already thinking about a sequel, especially since Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is expected to portray Black Adam.

During an interview with ComicBook.com, director David F. Sandberg and producer Peter Safran discussed a possible sequel, stating that they would be down to return. Here is how the exchange went:

Safran: "It's easy for me to say, 'I'm on board.' What about you?"
Sandberg: "Let's do it."
Safran: "You heard it here!"

Considering all of the positive press that the film has received thus far, this would be very good news if the film does get a sequel. We'll probably have to wait for its box office numbers to come but here is hoping that the DCEU gets to have another installment featuring this hero. Plus, if Aquaman can get a sequel, this one probably can and should.

Shazam comes out on April 5.
