New Characters Revealed for James Gunn's Suicide Squad 2

It was said that James Gunn wanted a whole new roster for his Suicide Squad movie, and it looks like he's going to be digging really deep into the DC vault. Just in, we have a list of people Gunn wants in his lineup.

According to Collider, Gunn's new Suicide Squad will include the likes of Ratcatcher, King Shark, Polka-Dot Man, and Peacemaker.

With the original roster of Suicide Squad being obscure, I had no idea just how deep Gunn could go into the rabbit hole. Then again, he was able to introduce the Guardians of the Galaxy to the general audience. Maybe he can do the same magic with a bunch that includes the Polka-Dot Man.

Here's a quick rundown of the characters:

Ratcatcher – A Batman villain whose specialty is manipulating rats a la the Pied Piper. The character is originally male in the comics but will be a woman in this film.

Polka-Dot Man – One of the sillier Batman villains who has a suit covered with polka-dots and each dot is a different kind of weapon.

King Shark – a humanoid mutant; basically Killer Croc, but shark-themed.

Peacemaker – an extremist pacifist who is so obsessed with peace he will literally kill for it.

Besides the new roster, it's been said that Harley Quinn will likely make a return in the film. We also know that Will Smith is out, and word has it that Idris Elba is in talks to take over the Deadshot role. There hasn't been any word on whether Viola Davis' Amanda Waller will make a return either.

James Gunn's The Suicide Squad is set to come out Aug. 6, 2021.
