The title of My Hero Academia Chapter 396 is Battle Without a Quirk, and it begins with All Might’s monologue about the time Nighteye told him about a villain that will bring him an unspeakably gruesome death sometime in the future.
And if Nighteye’s Foresight Quirk’s prediction still holds true, then All Might believes that All For One is that villain.
Twenty minutes before the Toga-Twice army faded away, All Might came face to face with All For One and said his iconic hero phrase "I am here!".
He starts activating the support items he received from Hercules as a mechanical power suit envelops his body, unveiling "Armored All Might".
All Might asks Hercules to roll the cameras while addressing Tsukauchi, saying that he will keep him updated on his fight.
Immediately, La Brava overhears the talk about All Might vs. All For One and plans to live stream the fight.
On the contrary, Tsukauchi recalls All Might leaving him behind to provide support for all, despite his current state.
Tsukauchi knows that All Might has chosen death, for a quirkless man like him has no hope of taking All For One, even after he had all the tools and gadgets in the world.
Because of this, Tsukauchi sadly asks La Brava to cut the live stream because he believes that they will only be broadcasting the brutal death of a former hero, stealing a few minutes of All For One’s time to make sure his pupil’s fight goes uninterrupted.
Meanwhile, All For One says that All Might is the number one roadblock in his life that has turned into a toy worth manipulating more than any other.
He mocks All Might’s foolishness for delaying his advance, despite knowing exactly how their fight will play out.
Seeing All Might’s smile, All For One unleashes a destructive blast against All Might, who orders Hercules to activate "Red Riot", to shield his body with a protective coating against All For One’s attack.
However, All Might’s shield has been depleted by 66 percent, leaving him defenseless against another destructive blast.
All For One acknowledges All Might’s classic style, as the latter goes on a mad charge without dodging against him. But he knows that All Might’s style only worked at the time because he held One For All.
As All For One charges toward All Might, the latter uses several electric wires to hold the former’s body, following it up with Black Whip and Charge Bolt to release electric shocks that permeate All For One’s body.
The electric current meddles with All For One’s regeneration, allowing All Might to use "Cellophane" to reel the wires into All For One’s body. It also allowed time for All Might to use "Sugar Man to build up his leg kick.
All Might remarks that All For One had a habit of kicking fights off with haphazard ranged attacks ever since his final battle with Nana Shimura.
He continues, noting how All For One loves wearing folks down before stealing their quirks, but that approach is meant for fighting those with quirks.
Upon seeing all of this, La Brava asks Tsukauchi if he is still so gloomy about the feed, but Tsukauchi can’t believe what All Might was showing on the screen.
He should have known the measure of the man who has kept them safe and whole after all that he has witnessed from him.
All Might reveals that the suit and the car are there to keep him in this fight, if only for a bit, but he came up with the specs and put them in the design request.
Back then, when All For One brought them to their knees, All Might had no choice but to take refuge in the States.
The good thing is that All Might met a friend there, and this technology he’s using now is the fruit of their bond, while a hopeful Melissa Shield watches the live stream.
All Might declares that all that he has been blessed with will bear its weight against All For One.
He also tells All For One that not once in his entire life has he gone into battle expecting to lose, as All Might uses "Shoot Style Smash", pummeling All For One, much to Tsukauchi’s surprise.
