My Happy Marriage already has a cast featuring lots of popular VAs, and it will soon add yet another well-known seiyuu to its cast. Recently, Kadokawa revealed that a star from K-On! will join the My Happy Marriage cast in the next episode.
This new VA is a veteran actress whom many anime fans should be familiar with. She will also play an intriguing new character who is a family member of Kiyoka Kudo.
With this reveal, anime fans have even more reason to watch My Happy Marriage, a show that has quickly become one of the season’s highlights.
My Happy Marriage Continues to Be Summer 23’s Dark Horse
The Summer 23 season has several popular returning shows, including Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 and Mushoku Tensei Season 2.
These two shows are arguably the biggest of the season, but now, it seems that My Happy Marriage has quietly become one of the dark horse contenders for the most popular anime of Summer 23.
For instance, the show is the most popular of the current season on Netflix as it had the most watch hours worldwide after its first month. Not to mention that it reached the Top 10 in over 20 countries.
Its popularity can be attributed to several reasons. First, the show features a love story that’s reminiscent of Cinderella, but with a big focus on magical or supernatural elements.
There’s also the fact that the series has a beautiful art style and animation courtesy of studio Kinema Citrus (of Made in Abyss and The Rising of the Shield Hero fame).

Iconic K-On! VA Joins My Happy Marriage Voice Cast
Another big draw of the series is its cast, which features popular VAs like Reina Ueda (Kanao in Demon Slayer) and Kaito Ishikawa (Iida in My Hero Academia).
Soon, the cast will be joined by Yoko Hikasa, a popular VA who is best known for her roles as Mio Akiyama in K-On!, Emi Yusa in The Devil Is a Part-Timer!, and Rias Gremory in High School DxD.
Hikasa’s newest role is Hazuki Kudo, the older sister of leading man Kiyoka Kudo. Hazuki will make her debut in the anime’s next episode.
Given Kiyoka and Miyo’s blossoming relationship, it’ll be interesting to see if Hazuki will be a supportive character or yet another roadblock for the two.
My Happy Marriage will continue with Episode 7 which will be released next week.
