Mortal Kombat 11 Teases the Arrival of the Joker

NetherRealm has had another successful release with Mortal Kombat 11, and the game has been getting a steady stream of DLC characters. Just in, we're going to be getting the Clown Prince of Crime, DC's Joker, incoming, and NetherRealm teases his arrival with this teaser photo:

While we don't get a look at the character in full, game director Ed Boon did give us this bloody teaser photo of Joker with the screen mostly covered in, well, blood. Check it out:

We don't know the play-style of Joker for the game yet, but seeing as MK likes to reinvent itself with every iteration, we should expect Mr. J to have a different way of working compared to his latest iteration in Injustice 2. One thing we can be sure of is that this version can get as violent as it wants to, given the nature of the MK franchise.

I do have to say though, the look of Joker in this game is a lot more compatible with what the fans are used to. NetherRealm admittedly tried really hard to make Joker look different for Injustice 2, what with the trench coat, no shirt, and Goth hair, but this one admittedly has a messier looking smile—probably a nod to Joker's onscreen looks where he's just wearing make-up? I'm sure a lot of people would want a skin based on Joaquin Phoenix's version of the character.

The gameplay trailer for Joker comes tomorrow, but the DLC itself releases on Jan. 28. Mortal Kombat 11 is now playable for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
