Matt Reeves' Batman Movie Reportedly Bringing Back Catwoman And Penguin

It looks like Matt Reeves' upcoming Batman film is going to be a reboot of sorts. A new report suggests that the new DC Extended Universe flick will bring back Catwoman and Penguin as two of the major villains.

There have already been speculations that Penguin will play a major role in the Batman movie. Interestingly, The Hollywood Reporter has pointed out that Oswald Cobblepott isn't the only baddie who will be showing up in the highly anticipated film. The report teases that "another purrfect character" could join the action. Additionally, one source hints at Reeves possibly bringing in "half-a-dozen villains" as well.

This is certainly welcome news for fans who have been doing some of their own fancasting on social media. Just a few days after it was revealed that Robert Pattinson is the frontrunner to play the Caped Crusader, people have been begging Warner Bros. to cast his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart as Catwoman. However, the official casting for Reeves' project has yet to be confirmed.

Pattinson and Stewart are not the only ones that fans are hoping to be a major part of the Batman film. Josh Gad has been actively campaigning for the role of Penguin and people are loving the idea. For now, we will need to wait for an official announcement from Warner Bros. about the new Batman.

The return of Catwoman and Penguin is certainly a welcome one considering that the two villains made for an awesome yet unusual pairing in Batman Returns. In the Tim Burton flick, Michelle Pfeiffer portrayed Selina Kyle while Danny DeVito played Oswald. It would be interesting to see how these villains could work together again in an effort to defeat the Dark Knight.
