Joker Box Office Projections Predict Record Opening Weekend For October

There's a lot of anticipation building up over Todd Phillip's Joker movie and it looks like the buzz is showing at the film's box office tracking.

Deadline has the newest report on Joker's box office projections, and according to the entertainment news outlet, the film's box office tracking is doing exceptionally well. Early box office reports say that the upcoming character study is going to open to $90 million during its very first weekend in cinemas, making the movie the biggest opener for an October release.

If Joker does reach the $90 million weekend opening projection, then it could very well beat out the current October record-breaking movie, Venom. Last year, the first entry in Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters opened to a decent $80.2 million at the box office.

While some other tracking services say that it is possible that Joker might start off with a little less than $82 million because of its R-Rating, we're pretty sure that DC fans are going to flock to cinemas to see the movie. There's a whole lot of buzz building up over Phillipp's gritty character study of the Clown Prince of Crime. Not only is the film getting great reviews from critics, but it also just recently won big at this year's Venice International Film Festival.

Sure, the movie might seem a bit divisive because of its sensitive material, however, it seems rather promising, with critics calling it an "insane masterpiece." Others call it "powerful and disturbing" while others yet call it the most "uncompromising film" they've seen since FIRST REFORMED.
