Joe Manganiello Teases the Original Deathstroke Scene for Zack Snyder's Justice League

Joe Manganiello was originally set to play Deathstroke for the DCEU, and though he debuted as the character in Justice League, poor reception of the film (and the cancellation of Ben Affleck's The Batman) has somewhat led to the role being lost in obscurity. With the announcement of Zack Snyder's Justice League though, Manganiello teases the original end-credits scene with his character.

He simply posted:

Note that there are also emojis for clashing swords, a bat, and a skull, so this could mean that rather than showing up for Lex Luthor, the scene actually had Deathstroke dealing with Batman. Then again, it could be for something else, I'm just guessing based on what clues Manganiello has dropped.

Originally Deathstroke was supposed to be a main player in the solo Batman film when Affleck was still attached to direct. Seeing as the DCEU had been broken down after Batman v Superman, original plans had been scrapped, and Matt Reeves ended up just rebooting the franchise with Robert Pattinson. With the release of Snyder's original vision though, I'm hopeful that this could open doors to a continuation of the original DCEU plans, including the solo Batman movie directed by Ben Affleck.

I mean, if we can get alternate timelines with Joker, I'm sure the DCEU can have two Batmen existing at once. This is just another idea, but they should introduce the multi-verse in the solo Flash film.

No specific release date has been announced, but Zack Snyder's Justice League comes to HBO Max in 2021.
