James Gunn's Suicide Squad 2 May Have Found its Ratcatcher

James Gunn is looking to bring in new members for his Suicide Squad and it looks like the cast is steadily growing. After confirmation that David Dastmalchian has been cast as Polka-Dot Man, the movie may have already found its Ratcatcher.

According to Variety, the movie has tapped Portuguese actress Daniela Melchior to play the obscure Batman villain. In the comics, Ratcatcher was originally a man who could train and communicate with hordes of rats. When in prison, the Ratcatcher was able to sneak items in and out with the help of his "friends." No doubt, this could be a useful skill when it comes to pulling off some kind of heist in the movie. Who says everyone in the Squad had to be a fighter?

Besides Ratcatcher, new characters include Polka-Dot Man, Peacemaker, and King Shark. Original Squad members Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, and Rick Flagg are also set to make a return with Amanda Waller also coming back. Idris Elba was also originally set to replace Will Smith's Deadshot, but it looks like they're rewriting him to have his own original character—most likely the Bronze Tiger from the comics.

We don't have a main story for The Suicide Squad yet, but with production set to start later this year, hopefully, we could get something at SDCC 2019 this July. Then again, it's still going to be a long wait since the movie is set to come out in the latter half of 2021.
