Who Is Rou in Re:Monster?
Rou starts his journey as a human with the extraordinary Esper power known as Absorption. This allows him to consume different entities and gain their skills and attributes permanently.
However, things go south when he is ruthlessly murdered by his childhood friend turned stalker, Kirimine Aoi. Later, he wakes up and finds himself reincarnated as a goblin.
Embracing this new lease on life, Rou resolves to make the most out of his second chance and embark on a journey of self-discovery and fulfillment.

How Strong Is Rou in Re:Monster? Powers and Abilities Explained
Rou is easily one of the strongest characters in Re:Monster because of his incredible Absorption ability that allows him to gain powers from creatures and objects by consuming them.
He not only gains abilities via Absorption, but in his Overlord form, he uses Synthesis to get more abilities.
He has two kinds of abilities – permanent and optional. Permanent abilities are powers Rou cannot turn off.
His permanent abilities include Absorption, Fate Stealer, Heresy Nemesis, Three Steps of Destruction, Skilled Water Beast Rider, Dungeon Plunder – Howls of the Underworld, and World Enemy – Insatiable Gluttony.
Meanwhile, his optional abilities are Instant Death, Intimidation, Attack Support, Absorb, Resistance & Reduction, Leadership, Lineage, and many more.
Rou can also access various magical powers such as Shock Back, Fire Magic, Druid Healing Magic, Enchanter Magic, Demise Magic, and Origin Magic.

As mentioned before, Rou’s Absorption ability helped him quickly rank up from his goblin form to other forms in Re:Monster.
Rou's progression in Re:Monster is rapid, indicating he might as well be the strongest character in the series.
However, there are other powerful and stronger hobgoblins with fearsome powers and abilities.
