After a year with no new info, the upcoming Helck anime dropped a ton of info recently, including the show’s complete cast, release date, and more in the show’s first proper trailer.

While the anime was announced back in February 2022, a whole year has passed since more major details have been shared.

Now though, fans of the popular fantasy manga are in for a treat as the show’s premiere is just a few months away.

New Helck Trailer, Staff Members

This upcoming fantasy anime series is based on the manga of the same name by Nanaki Nanao.

The manga isn’t exactly talked about much now, though it’s not surprising given that its run ended over five years ago.

However, there’s likely going to be renewed interest in the series with the release of the anime adaptation’s new trailer, which you can watch here:

Helck’s new trailer is short at just a bit over 30 seconds, though it does give us a proper look at the protagonist Helck, a human hero who hates humanity and becomes the Demon King.

The series is animated by studio Satelight, a Sapporo-based anime studio that isn’t exactly a household name like MAPPA or Bones. Nonetheless, it is a long-running studio with works dating back to the early 2000s.

Directing the anime at Satelight is Tatsuo Sato, the director of Lagrange - The Flower of Rin-ne.

He is joined by renowned musical composer Yoshihisa Hirano of Hunter x Hunter (2011) and Edens Zero fame.

Alongside the show’s trailer, the Helck 20-strong voice cast was also revealed.

Voicing the titular character is Katsuyuki Konishi, the voice actor of Kamina in Gurren Lagann and Tengen Uzui in Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc.

Joining Konishi is Mikako Komatsu as Vamirio. Komatsu is best known for voicing Maki Zenin in Jujutsu Kaisen, Seishiro Tsugumi in Nisekoi, and Lupusregina Beta in Overlord, among other roles.

These two main voice actors are joined by several popular talents, including Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, another veteran VA who is popular for voicing Kirito in Sword Art Online, and Soma Yukihara in Food Wars!

Aside from its cast and staff, the trailer also revealed that the Helck anime will premiere in July 2023 as part of the Summer 2023 anime season.

Though there’s no word yet right now on where the show will be streamed outside Japan.
