With the Spring 2023 season ending soon, the new Gundam anime is now building up toward its finale. In The Witch from Mercury Episode 23, Gundam fans were treated to an incredible fight scene featuring the Gundam Schwarzette.
Along with this epic fight that showed off the new mobile suit in all its glory, the show’s latest episode also proved that The Witch from Mercury is a true Gundam anime. After all, the show finally introduced its own colony laser.

The Witch from Mercury Episode 23 Goes Full Gundam
As the series’ penultimate episode, Witch from Mercury Episode 23 featured a lot of big moments, including another twist that sees the Space Assembly League and Peil Technologies become the true villains.
Specifically, Peil Technologies essentially betrayed the Benerit Group and are now allied with the Space Assembly League.
On top of this, the League revealed its space laser that will be used to destroy Quiet Zero.
The introduction of this new weapon wasn’t surprising for fans as many noted that a Mobile Suit Gundam anime isn’t complete without a huge space laser.
Aside from the League’s superweapon, one of the episode’s highlights was the fight between brothers Guel and Lauda Jeturk.
This moment saw Lauda pilot the Schwarzette, and he nearly kills Guel in the process.
Despite the death flags, Felsi appears and saves Guel, admonishing the brothers for fighting. This resulted in many Gundam fans calling Felsi the episode’s MVP.

Gundam Schwarzette Makes a Big Impression Among Fans
While the previous episode saw the Calibarn in action, Episode 23’s highlight was no doubt the Schwarzette.
Though it was shown previously, the latest episode finally showed the new mobile suit in action.
The Witch from Mercury trended on Twitter following the episode’s release, with many tweets being about the Schwarzette.
Many praised the mobile suit’s design, including its one-winged look and the Gund-BITs sword.
The episode also comes just in time as the Gunpla model kit of the Schwarzette will be released in early July.
Given how popular the Schwarzette is right now, it won’t be surprising to see it get sold out as the Aerial Gunpla did.
The Witch from Mercury will end with Episode 24, which will be released next week.
