Following its initial reveal a month ago, the new manga by Golden Kamuy creator Satoru Noda now has an official title, and it’s called DOGSRED.

As announced previously, this new project is a sports manga that will be serialized in Weekly Young Jump, similar to Noda’s other works. And it will indeed be a recreation of Noda’s earlier work.

Along with the title reveal, the DOGSRED manga’s official release date has also been announced, and fans of Noda’s work won’t have to wait much longer for his highly anticipated return.

Satoru Noda is a notable manga artist who is best known for Golden Kamuy, the seinen manga that inspired the hit anime of the same name.

Golden Kamuy is a popular series thanks to its unique early 20th-century Hokkaido setting that’s combined with a story involving the island’s native Ainu people. In fact, one of its main characters is the Ainu girl, Asirpa.

Though the anime will continue with a new project called the Final Chapter, the manga has been completed since April last year.

Since then, Noda has taken a break, but he is finally making a comeback to manga serialization.

As revealed back in June, Noda is working on an ice hockey manga series that’s billed as a recreation of his previous work titled Supinamarada!

This previous manga was serialized in Weekly Young Jump from 2011 to 2012, and it follows a 15-year-old figure skater who quits after a tragic event. But he soon decides to pick up ice hockey.

DOGSRED Manga Announces Weekly Young Jump Release

Much like Oshi no Ko creator Aka Akasaka, Satoru Noda is a fixture in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine as his two major serialized works have been published there.

Given this, it’s no surprise that Noda’s latest work is once again coming to Young Jump. And in the magazine’s latest chapter, it was revealed that his new work, DOGSRED, is starting serialization next week.

As the new manga is billed as a recreation of his previous work, it will likely be a remake of Supinamarada! Or at the very least, it will feature a story that’s similar to it.

DOGSRED will begin serialization in Weekly Young Jump on July 27, 2023. However, there’s currently no word yet on release plans outside of Japan.

Because Golden Kamuy is available on Viz Media’s Shonen Jump app, there is a chance that DOGSRED will be released there as well.

For now, fans of Noda will have to wait and see as Young Jump titles aren’t guaranteed to get international releases.
