Event Leviathan Writer Brian Michael Bendis Might Have Revealed Leviathan's True Identity [SPOILERS]

Event Leviathan has been taking over the DC Universe bit by bit. With such a powerful yet mysterious character, everyone is eager to know the Leviathan's real identity. From Batman, Lois Lane, and the readers themselves, all are trying their very best to uncover the villain's identity.

The mystery might soon be solved as the comics writer may have revealed who the Leviathan really is.

Aside from the villain's mask, Leviathan has always mystified the fans despite laying low, making him different from all the other villains. He'd always go with making terrorist attacks on numerous DC agencies, but there's actually more to what Leviathan is trying to do.

It seems like Leviathan did not even kill the perceived "good guys." He believes the superheroes will side with him eventually since what resulted in him not killing the supposed good guys is supporting Leviathan with his objective of making a new world order. Leviathan made sure that he had survivors who are gullible enough for him to take advantage of.

Lots of fans are trying to guess who Leviathan is, with many speculating Jason Todd was the said villain. However, in a recent interview with CBR, Event Leviathan writer Brian Michael Bendis talks about how there are actually quite a number of people guessing. And that some of them might have guessed right.

Bendis shares his excitement as he was proud of the subtle clues he placed within the comics. Stating that he likes how some people got it but he also likes how "people who don't get it are going to be surprised."

Even though Bendis was keeping it low, he revealed one major clue that he has placed in a different comic. This clue seems to be a significant one and it is recognizable. Especially for people who have been reading the Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium.

"Check out the Kamandi chapter in Millennium," Bendi says as there are apparently some Leviathan logos present, hinting to a huge clue.

Although it revolves around the story of the immortal woman who is said to connect all of DC's timelines, it clearly shows what Bendis tried to tease in his interview.

As it turns out, not a lot of people saw the logos despite being a major hint placed in the comic. And if you are an avid fan, you would recognize what this logo pertains to. More importantly, who it pertains to.

The said logo is revealed to be some sort of a symbol of Leviathan that may be similar to Mark Shaw or for what he is widely known, the Manhunter.

Shaw was introduced in the late 1980s as a criminal defense attorney who eventually gave up on the legal system failing to assist the members of the society. He had an augmented mask and identified himself as the Manhunter.

The Manhunter hasn't returned after so many years and it is evident as to why Bendis would take advantage of his character to use him in future stories. He might be the mysterious Leviathan that everyone is hoping to see as he may be a good fit. Considering that he has been both a villain and a hero.

It's exciting to see the revelation of Leviathan's identity as the story progresses. Fans are surely hooked on what comes next.

Event Leviathan #5 will be available on October 9th, 2019.
