The Batman spin-off series Pennyworth appears to be moving forward by adding two new cast members. Interestingly, Epix's Alfred Pennyworth TV series will feature the Caped Crusader's mother and possibly the young Queen of England.

According to Deadline, Pennyworth has just added Emma Paetz and Jessica Ellerby for interesting roles. The report confirms that Paetz will play Martha Kane, the future Martha Wayne, and mother of Bruce Wayne. Meanwhile, Ellerby will take on the recurring role of The Queen.

Ellerby's role is certainly strange and several fans are wondering if the character might actually be the Queen of England back when she was much younger (the series is set in the 1960s). For now, we'll have to wait until new updates are revealed. In the meantime, Ellerby shared the good news about her casting with her Instagram followers.

The 10-episode series will follow Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon), "a former British SAS soldier in his 20s who forms a security company and goes to work with a young billionaire Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge), who's not yet Bruce's father, in 1960s London." Needless to say, we'll get to see how Alfred was before he became the legendary butler that raised Bruce Wayne.

The Epix series will also star Paloma Faith as Bet Sykes, Jason Flemyng as Lord Harwood, Ryan Fletcher as Dave Boy and Hainsley Lloyd Bennett as Bazza.

Pennyworth has not yet been given an official premiere date. However, the series is expected to begin production soon and could air on Epix before the end of the year.
