The next Dragon Ball Super movie is heading to theaters this year, and it will be shifting away the focus from Goku and Vegeta; instead, it will focus on Gohan and other Z Fighters in the next round of battle against the criminal organization known as the Red Ribbon Army as well as their new androids.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero will bring back the side of Gohan we've last seen in the Cell Games, and now a new promo shares a preview of what to expect from the upcoming anime film.
Twitter outlet DBS Hype shared the new promo from a recent issue of Shonen Jump, and it features imagery from the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero poster, along with various images from the film to get fans hyped for the new story about the battle between the Z Fighters and the infamous criminal organization known as the Red Ribbon Army:
Just in case you're not familiar with the characters featured in the promo image, the short man with the purple superhero costume is Dr. Hedo, the genius scientist employed by the Red Ribbon Army. He possesses highly-advanced Android technology.
The two new androids are Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, and based on what we've seen in the trailers and promotional images so far, it looks like Gohan and Piccolo will be fighting them.
The sinister-looking man with a moustache, and wearing a magenta-colored suit is Magenta, the President of Red Pharmaceuticals, the current public face of the Red Ribbon Army, and the tall man with the large pompadour beside him is his driver and confidant, Carmine.
Other than them, we see more familiar faces like Pan, Piccolo, Gohan, and Goku.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is set to release in theaters in Japan on April 22, 2022. Release dates for other regions of the world will be announced soon.
