The three lead characters of Dead Boy Detectives appear in the third season of Doom Patrol. Through the Dead Boy Detectives agency, they were able to learn that the souls of the Doom Patrol were trapped in the underworld.

This led to the rescue of the superheroes with the assistance of the two detectives, Charles Rowland (played by Sebastian Croft) and Edwin Paine (played by Ty Tennant).

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace (played by Madalyn Horcher) stayed behind with a member of the Doom Patrol as they waited for news.

Because of their appearance on Doom Patrol, a spinoff series was ordered by Netflix to finally give the boys their own TV show and a new set of cast members.

Ever since Dead Boy Detectives was created, the teen ghosts have starred in crossover events. Their first appearance was in one issue of The Sandman in 1991.

The Dead Boy Detectives haven't appeared in a lot of comics. But with their The Sandman debut, they quickly became fan favorites.

So when they made an appearance in an episode of Doom Patrol, many were ecstatic about the crossover.
