DC's New 'Batman/Superman' Series Picks Up After 'The Batman Who Laughs'

It looks like some major trouble is coming and DC has united the World's Finest to make sure things aren't too bad, though they might be in over their heads. That's right, we're getting a new Batman/Superman series from DC writer Joshua Williamson and Civil War II artist David Marquez. The series is set after Scott Snyder and Jock's The Batman Who Laughs and the revelations from that story have huge ramifications for the entire DC universe.

Williamson told The Hollywood Reporter that the new Batman/Superman series will revolve around the two heroes looking for a new Secret Six, though they are not like the group that fans are familiar with. Rather than villains looking for a second chance, these are sleeper agents from The Batman Who Laughs, who are turning into dangerous threats similar to the villainous Bruce Wayne.

Bruce and Clark now have to spy on friends and foe alike to see who these sleeper agents are. Apparently, some of these sleeper agents know what is happening to them while others do not, making it similar to a Hulk or Jekyll and Hyde situation. The series will be more like a horror comic than a typical superhero story, which is interesting since it involves Batman and Superman.

The new Batman/Superman series will be launching this August. The Batman Who Laughs has also extended from a six-issue mini-series to a seven-issue one.
