Will There Be an Attack on Titan: The Final Chapters Special 2?
Given how the first one-hour special of Attack on Titan: The Final Chapters concluded, a second special was a given, even without any confirmed information.
The highly anticipated update to the beloved fantasy anime was released in early March, almost a year after the latest episode of Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2.
The explosive third part of this oddly released finale ended in a cliffhanger, having only covered up until Chapter 134 of the manga, leaving Chapters 135-139 unadapted.
Thankfully, the fourth and final part of Attack on Titan Season 4 -- one of the longest-running seasons in modern anime -- has been confirmed.
Attack on Titan: The Final Chapters Special 2 Release Date Predictions
It is now officially confirmed that Attack on Titan: The Final Chapters Special 2 is going to have a Fall 2023 release date, though the exact day and time are not currently available.
This approximate timeline was shared on the official Attack on Titan website that reads:
It has been decided that the TV anime Attack on Titan The Final Season Concluding Part (Part 2) will be broadcast in the fall of 2023!
It is a bit early to make a more precise prediction, but fans do have their theories.
Many viewers speculate that the release date for the final one-hour special could be September 9, 2023.
This would be the 14th-year anniversary of the time the first-ever chapter of the Attack on Titan manga came out.
It is too early to tell if these rumors are true. The idea behind the speculation is definitely nice and it would be quite poetic if the anime concluded on the anniversary of when it all started.
After all, studios sometimes choose such key dates to make important announcements or celebrate a beloved work, so this theory isn't entirely out of the question.
What makes this a bit tricky is the fact that early September isn't normally the time when new anime shows come out.
Most series start in mid to late October for the Fall lineup, so a September release would be a bit unusual.
That being said, it's exactly what happened with the Spring release of the first Attack on Titan: The Final Chapters Special, which came out in early March instead of the most typical mid-April.
As such, we can totally see an early September release happening, though, of course, we'll update this space when there is official information either way.
