If you're a huge Arrowverse junkie or just simply an "excessive" internet and social media user, there's a good chance that you've already come across the viral Arrow meme featuring Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) throwing a peace sign with a huge smile on his face at Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell) grave. The said image was taken from the hit Arrowverse series' finale and surfaced in January of last year and since then, memers have taken advantage of it.

In fact, over the last year, the set photo-turned-viral-meme has spawned several iterations — both hilarious and cringeworthy and while the people of the internet are delighted by it, Stephen Amell himself is no longer finding amusement out of the meme.

Taking to Twitter during Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp's near six-hour outage, the actor and occasional professional wrestler voiced his sentiments about the "overused" meme and made sure he let the world know how he feels about it. Dropping the F-bomb on fans, Amell tweeted: "Could everyone who repurposes this photo kindly fuck off." Yikes! Check it out here:

Welp, I guess the meme has run its course and everyone should put it to rest before they feel the wrath of Arrow himself. Meanwhile, it's crystal clear that Amell's days in the Arrowverse are finally over but the actor has expressed his interest in reprising the role in a future project. Hopefully, with the entire DC multiverse thing set to officially kickstart next year via The Flash, it opens the doors for Oliver Queen to cross over to the big screen. Anything is virtually possible now so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Arrow is currently streaming on Netflix and CW Seed. Meanwhile, The Flash is slated for release in November 2022.
