It's only been two months since Aquaman was shown in theaters and we're already getting news about Aquaman 2, which will likely get a different title. The movie has made a billion dollars and is currently the highest-selling movie DC has released, so it's no surprise that a sequel was announced. No one can blame DC or Warner Bros. for doing this since you have to strike while the iron is hot.

Due to the news of an official sequel, this Tweet from The Aquaverse has been gaining a ton of attention since the Twitter account had correctly guessed appearances from Orm, Black Manta, and The Trench for the first film. Now, the news account has stated that The Others from DC's New 52 comics will be making an appearance, which would be really cool.

The Others were a group of Atlantis-based superheroes that Arthur formed before he joined the Justice League. After a popular Aquaman arc from Geoff Johns, the group would get a short-lived comic series called Aquaman and The Others, which was the first time the character had gained a second ongoing that prominently focused on him.

How they will be formed in the DCEU is going to be interesting, assuming the report is true of course. Sure, the account got correct guesses for the first movie but plans can always change so fans may want to take the news with a grain of salt. Still, there's no denying the coolness factor of seeing Aquaman with his own group that isn't the Justice League.

Aquaman will be coming out on Blu-Ray and DVD soon. Aquaman 2 will reportedly come out on December 16, 2022.
