Amber Heard’s Future In The DCEU May Be In Question After Johnny Depp Lawsuit

It looks like Aquaman star Amber Heard's future in the DC Extended Universe may come into question now that the actress is being sued by her former husband Johnny Depp for defamation and false allegations of domestic abuse.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star recently just recently filed a $50 million lawsuit against his ex-wife, revealing that Heard was never abused and that the op-ed the actress had with The Washington Post last year was nothing more than an "elaborate hoax."

"Ms. Heard is not a victim of domestic abuse, she is a perpetrator," the lawsuit states.

The document (which you can read here) also says that Heard used her claims in her op-ed to further her career as a Hollywood movie star, riding on the waves of the #MeToo movement.

"They were part of an elaborate hoax to generate positive publicity for Ms. Heard and advance her career," the lawsuit says in response to the allegations that Depp had acted violently towards Heard. These allegations, according to Depp's lawyers, have been the cause behind the actor's removal from Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean franchise as well as its reboot.

According to the lawsuit, there were various incidents of violence from Heard. Once, the actress allegedly threw a bottle of vodka at Depp, resulting into his hand injury which required surgery. Heard also punched Depp while he was in bed, kicked him during many different occasions, and staged her own attacks.

"Unaware that members of Mr. Depp's security team (including an 18-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department) were mere feet away, Ms. Heard falsely began yelling, 'Stop hitting me, Johnny,'" states the lawsuit, "The interaction culminated with Ms. Heard making false allegations that Mr. Depp struck her with a cell phone, hit her and destroyed the penthouse. There were multiple eyewitnesses to this hoax."

If these stories are proven true, then Heard may have problems with her future in the DCEU.
